Our main sites are Middlemore Hospital, Kidz First Hospital and Manukau Health Park. We are part of Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, the overarching organisation for New Zealands national health service. HNZ leads the day-to-day running of the health system, with functions delivered at local, district, regional and national levels. About the role: Our Whakatupu Ora team are seeking to employ a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our kaupapa and mahi. Based in the vibrant and culturally diverse community of South Auckland, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of pepi and tamariki (aged 0-4 years) plus work alongside their whanau and caregivers. This team is aligned and co-located with the perinatal mental health team in East Tamaki. We have a shared multidisciplinary team (MDT) meeting, allowing for consultation and joint work to address the wellbeing needs of whanau and caregivers. Your main responsibilities will be: Working as part of a specialist MDT to conduct comprehensive assessment of infant and young childrens mental health and development, as well as assess family dynamics and child-caregiver interactions. Develop and implement culturally appropriate tailored treatment plans that promote healthy social-emotional development within the infant and young childs context/home environment Provide consultation to whanau, caregivers, childcare providers, and other professionals involved in the care of infant and young child. This may include, but is not exclusive to, providing guidance on behaviour challenges, attachment issues, and promoting positive child-parent relationship Plus ensuring whanau centred care and offering parenting advice from time to time or a referral to appropriate services If you are a Registered Nurse with a positive and flexible attitude, have good interpersonal skills and a passion for Infant Mental Health we would like to hear from you!
