Wairarapa Community Centre Trust – Wellington, North Island We are seeking a dedicated Community Hub Administrator for a one-year fixed-term position to provide integrated operational support to our Manager and ensure the efficient day-to day operation of the Centre. Based at the Wairarapa Community Centre, 41 Perry Street, Masterton, this part-time role requires 20 hours per week spread across 5 days (with exact hours to be agreed upon between the successful candidate and the Manager). In this diverse role, you will combine facility management support, tenant liaison, volunteer coordination, and food programme administration. Key responsibilities Ensure all visitors, tenants, and volunteers experience a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment. Manage general enquiries, provide information to the public, and handle conference room bookings. Act as the day-to day liaison for our tenants, coordinating shared services, identifying issues, and supporting communication between tenants and Trust management. Coordinate the Trust's food programmes, which includes managing food pickups and deliveries, assisting with cooking classes, and maintaining the community kitchen and storage. Support our incredible volunteers by assisting with inductions, orientation, and coordinating their daily activities. Monitor building conditions, report maintenance needs, liaise with contractors, and support health, safety, and building compliance. Provide general administrative support, including maintaining records and databases, preparing reports, and managing inventory and supplies. About you Strong administrative, organisational, and customer service skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and solve practical problems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, combined with a positive and welcoming approach. Cultural awareness and the ability to build effective relationships with a wide variety of people. A clear understanding of confidentiality and privacy obligations. A Full New Zealand Driver License. Experience working in the community, social services, or not-for-profit sector. Experience supporting volunteers and working alongside vulnerable individuals or community groups. Knowledge of health and safety, food safety requirements, or practical experience in food programme delivery and community kitchens.
