Job Description

Huntly Medical Services Ltd – Waikato District, North Island Riverview Health is seeking a General Practitioner to join our friendly and supportive team in our new purpose-built medical centre in the heart of Huntly. Formerly known as Doctors @ 42, Riverview Health has been serving the North Waikato community for more than 20 years. We recently relocated to modern new premises and continue to pride ourselves on delivering patient-centred care while promoting the physical, mental, and overall wellbeing of our patients. Our team consists of five doctors (all Fellows of RNZCGP), three practice nurses (2 are nurse prescribers), three receptionists, and a dedicated practice manager. We are Cornerstone/Foundation accredited and are actively involved in teaching medical students from the University of Auckland, as well as GP registrars undertaking GPEP training through the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (RNZCGP). We are looking for an experienced General Practitioner to join our growing practice, which currently has an enrolled patient population of approximately 4,300 patients. Hours are negotiable, ideally 6–8 sessions per week, with contractor arrangements available. We offer competitive remuneration, which is negotiable based on experience. We are looking for someone who: Is passionate about General Practice. Demonstrates excellent clinical skills. Enjoys providing healthcare to a diverse community. Has a strong focus on patient-centred care. Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Is interested in a possible future partnership opportunity within the practice. Requirements: Holds General Registration and a current Annual Practising Certificate with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Upholds the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in clinical practice. Has experience working in General Practice or is working towards Vocational Registration. Doctors who are interested in working in General Practice can also apply GPEP 2 and GPEP 3 registrars are encouraged to apply. Experience with MedTech Evolution is advantageous.
