Skilled Labourer – Irrigation We're looking for a motivated and dependable Labourer to join a well-established irrigation team servicing farms throughout North, Mid, and South Canterbury. This role involves assisting with the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems. If you enjoy physical, outdoor work and want to be part of a supportive crew, this could be a great opportunity. The role is initially short-term, with the potential to become permanent for the right person. Location Based near Rangiora, with travel required throughout North, Mid, and South Canterbury. What You’ll Be Doing As part of the team, you’ll assist with a range of irrigation projects, including installing, servicing, and repairing farm irrigation systems. Your day‑to‑day duties may include: Assisting with the installation and maintenance of irrigation pipes, pivots, pumps, and sprinklers General labouring duties including trenching, backfilling, lifting, and site clean‑up Supporting operators and technicians with on‑site tasks Loading, unloading, and transporting tools and materials Setting up and packing down work sites Following health and safety procedures while maintaining high‑quality workmanship Hours & Benefits Average of 40-50 hours per week Up to 50-60 hours during busy periods Competitive hourly rate, depending on experience Stay‑away allowance provided Meals and accommodation supplied when working away from home What We’re Looking For Previous labouring or outdoor work experience (construction, farming, or irrigation is an advantage) Physically fit and comfortable with manual work Strong work ethic and willingness to learn Reliable, punctual, and able to work well within a team Full Class 1 driver’s licence Comfortable working outdoors in rural environments and all weather conditions Bonus Skills These aren’t essential but would be an advantage: Previous irrigation experience Digger operating experience #J-18808-Ljbffr
