Earthmoving Plant Operator

Ground Anchor Systems – Queenstown, South Island Ground Anchor Systems New Zealand is a leading company in the drilling and anchoring industry. We are currently seeking an Earthmoving Plant Operator to join our team in Queenstown, New Zealand . The work will focus on the use of various machinery and a range of excavators for the purpose of slope and asset stability. The successful candidate would be expected to work independently, demonstrating leadership and be able to operate in all forms of weather and topography. The position will involve working across a variety of sites and sectors including, Commercial, Public Infrastructure & Residential. The Role The primary responsibility is to oversee all drilling activities for your team. This involves assisting the Site Supervisor in leading a drilling crew, operating and maintaining drilling equipment, and ensuring that all drilling procedures are in compliance with safety regulations and company standards. Some of your key responsibilities are: Operate specialised drilling equipment, such as rotary drilling rigs and hammer drills (sometimes via remote controls). Operate machinery such as an excavator, telehandler, grout pump, piling rigs, air compressors, elevated work platform, forklift, hand drills, and other tools and equipment. Maintain accurate records of drilling operations, equipment usage, and maintenance activities. Identify and mitigate potential hazards on job sites. Ensure that drilling procedures are in compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Assist with retaining wall construction, piling work, steel fixing, installation of ground anchor systems, slinging, rigging loads, general labour, carpentry and machine operating. Prepare and position all drilling equipment and machinery. Train new crew members on drilling procedures and equipment operation. Maintain and repair drilling and drilling related equipment as needed. Work with Site Supervisor to ensure that project objectives are met.
