Teacher Aide

Richmond View School, a state-integrated Christian area school (Yrs 0-13) committed to educational excellence and upholding a special character, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher Aide to join our supportive team. THE ROLE: This key position involves providing essential general and specific support to students, both individually and in small groups, with a focus on enhancing learning, independence, and full participation in school life. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Delivering ongoing learning programmes as directed by the teacher or SENCO. Monitoring and observing students, acting to build strong, trusting relationships. Working with a high level of day-to-day independence in planning and delivering specific activities. Providing direct support for students with additional learning and behavioural needs. Assisting staff in monitoring and diffusing escalating behaviour. Complying with all board policies and relevant legislation. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: Strong communication skills, empathy, active listening, and a commitment to confidentiality. A willingness and ability to demonstrate and uphold the special character of our school. Must be willing to commit to learning New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) to support our students.
