About the Role We are inviting a skilled and adaptable Registered Nurse tojoin our fantastic Acute Zone team located at Te Nikau Hospital and HealthCentre, Greymouth Hospital. As this is a casual position you could expect ad hoc shifts(covering leave and illness), with some forward planning and schedulingavailable when covering planned leave. This casual position offers the challenge of a high-acuityenvironment, and the reward of being part of a close-knit, diverse committedteam. Supported by our Nurse Practitioner, Rural Generalists, and other medicalprofessionals: You will have the opportunity to assess andstabilise acutely unwell paediatric and adult patients Completing emergency procedures Working in our department where you can be seen to workacross the Acute Zone (Emergency Department, Short Stay Unit, andPaediatric Ward). About the Service The West Coast of the South Islandis rugged, isolated, and absolutely stunning. Stretching from Karamea in thenorth to Haast in the south, we're the largest geographical Te Whatu Oralocality, with a population of just 32,500. Delivering healthcare in thisenvironment can be challenging. This is an excellent role for a Registered Nurse who islooking to step into or expand their skills within an acute and emergencyenvironment. This role will be working alongside our multidisciplinary teamwithin our Acute Zone. The Acute Zone service has 9 emergency beds, 4 shortstay beds and 2 paediatric beds and sees an average of 40 presentations perday. About You This is an excellent role for a Registered Nursewho is looking to step into or expand their skills within an acute andemergency environment Qualified registered nurse with current AnnualPracticing Certificate and a background based in emergency departmentswith an interest in paediatrics. TNCC, ENPC and Triage experience would beadvantageous. Motivated and adaptable within high pressureenvironments who can work comfortably with both paediatric and adultpatients Ability to work within a team but autonomously aswell to meet demands on the service Experience within a similar environment (e.g. ED,Paediatrics, CCU or similar) Critical thinker who enjoys a challengingenvironment where never two days the same.
