About the role This is a key leadership position within our management team. You’ll lead all front of house operations, ensuring every event is delivered safely, professionally and with exceptional customer service. You’ll oversee our front of house staff, volunteers, bar and kitchen operations, while working closely with promoters, hirers, performers and production teams to ensure events run seamlessly. This is a varied role that combines leadership, hospitality, event operations and problem solving. One moment you’ll be planning staffing for an upcoming festival, the next you’ll be welcoming a touring company, supporting volunteers or ensuring everything is ready as the doors open. You’ll also play an important role in continually improving our systems, developing our people and helping shape the visitor experience at Clarence Street Theatre. As a live events venue, evening and weekend work is an essential part of the role. What you’ll bring We’re looking for someone who enjoys leading people just as much as delivering exceptional events. You’ll ideally have: Experience leading front of house, venue, hospitality or event operations A passion for customer service and creating memorable visitor experiences Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate casual staff and volunteers Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Confidence making decisions and solving problems under pressure Great organisational skills and attention to detail Experience working with ticketing systems or event management (desirable) A current Manager's Certificate and First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain) Most importantly, you’ll be someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in delivering great events, and is willing to roll up your sleeves when needed.
