Job Description
To provide direct services to families/whānau that restore safety and wellbeing/mauri ora where family violence has or is at risk of occurring. The Kaimahi family Harm provides an immediate assessment of the situation and ensures stability of a safe environment so appropriate services can be provided to the whānau. This role is Monday-Friday 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week). Key responsibilities Create Risk Assessments and Safety Plans Maintain a safety-first, child-centered focus Meet the immediate needs of people, families and whanau affected by violence Engage in regular supervision and professional development opportunities Submit reports to Line Manager prior to scheduled deadlines About you Experience working in a Kaupapa Māori organisation and working with whānau in community settings Knowledge of Te Reo, Tikanga, Te Ao Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi Registered Social Worker is preferred but not essential Be able to establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders Be mindful and respectful of client's confidentiality Have a sound knowledge of Family harm and the impact it has on whānau Competency and confidence in Te Reo Māori me ōna tikanga and a willingness to proactively develop these Have an understanding of the dynamics of family harm including perpetrator typologies and the impact of family violence harm on all whānau members Be Trauma Informed including knowledge of immediate as well as cumulative, and complex trauma Capability to assess whānau risk and needs and maintain a survivor-centric focus A current, full driver's license is required About us Te Kāika's Social Services Team provides assistance to whānau over a variety of services. Working alongside Family Harm Kaimahi, are Whānau Resilience, the team provide intervention options to support and inform whānau safety and wellbeing. #J-18808-Ljbffr
