Retail & Operational Support (Multi-site) - Fixed Term - 0.60 FTE

Fixed-Term (12 Months) Every day is different. Every day makes a difference. Nelson Tasman Hospice Retail plays a vital role in funding free specialist palliative care services for our community. We're looking for an enthusiastic and practical team member to join us for a 12-month fixed-term opportunity, working across our new Donation & Distribution Centre and Hospice retail stores, including Richmond Superstore, Op Shop on Saxton and Op Shop on Vanguard. This is a varied, hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a busy environment and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves. One day you might be helping process donations, supporting volunteers and moving stock through our Distribution Centre; the next you could be assisting customers, creating attractive displays or helping keep a retail store running smoothly. About the Role Reporting to the Retail Operations Manager, you'll provide support across our retail and distribution operations, helping ensure donated goods move efficiently from donor to shop floor. Responsibilities include: Supporting daily operations across the Donation & Distribution Centre and Hospice retail stores Receiving, sorting and processing donated goods Assisting with stock movement between sites Helping create attractive retail displays and presenting stock to a high standard Providing exceptional customer service to shoppers and donors Working alongside volunteers, providing support, guidance and encouragement Operating the till and assisting with day-to-day retail activities Collecting donations and delivering goods using Hospice vehicles Supporting stock flow, quality control and merchandising activities Helping maintain safe, clean and organised work environments Providing cover across multiple sites as operational needs require No two days are the same, and you'll play an important role in helping our retail operation generate income that supports Hospice care across the Nelson Tasman region. About You You might come from retail, customer service, hospitality, community services, logistics, warehousing, fundraising or another customer-focused operational environment. Most importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in getting things done well and is willing to jump in wherever needed. You’ll bring: Excellent customer service and communication skills A positive, flexible and team-focused attitude Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Confidence working in a fast-paced environment The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities A practical, hands-on approach to work Experience working with volunteers or diverse groups of people (an advantage) A commitment to providing great experiences for customers, donors and volunteers Physical fitness and the ability to undertake regular lifting and manual handling You’ll also need: A full New Zealand Driver Licence Confidence driving a manual vehicle The ability to work across multiple Nelson Tasman Hospice sites Why Join Nelson Tasman Hospice?
