Fabricators : You can look at a pile of steel and somehow see the finished product before anyone else does. Drawings don't scare you, measurements actually matter, and if someone says, "That'll be close enough," you probably need to go for a walk. Welders: You know the difference between a weld that simply sticks and one that's a work of art. MIG, TIG, Flux Core or Stick, you're happiest when sparks are flying and nobody asks if you can "just glue it instead." CNC Operators : You speak fluent G-code, precision is second nature, and watching a machine turn raw material into perfection never gets old. You know that a fraction of a millimeter can make all the difference, and you treat tolerances like they're sacred. Painters: You know that a great finish starts long before the paint comes out. Prep properly, mask it once, spray it right, and resist the urge to throttle the bloke who leans on the fresh paint. Electricians: You're basically a detective with a multimeter. You solve problems others can't see, you understand that electricity deserves respect, and you've lost count of how many times you've heard, "While you're here..." Maintenance Workers & Maintenance Fitters: When something breaks, everyone suddenly remembers your phone number. You keep machines alive, solve problems before they become disasters, and have somehow become an expert in fixing things people swore they "didn't touch." Traffic Controllers, TMO & STMS: You've mastered the art of stopping traffic with a sign and a look. You keep crews and the public safe, stay calm under pressure, and politely answer the same question 47 times a day: "How much longer?"
