Job Description

Our team operates with passion, we celebrate the different skills everyone brings to the business, and our culture is focused on helping you be the best you can be, with everyone playing their part in delivering a great product to our customers. We're a fast-growing, privately-owned New Zealand plastics manufacturer, running modern, well-maintained plant and equipment. We take real pride in our gear, and we're looking for someone who feels the same way. The Role We're on the lookout for a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our team and keep our plant running at its best. You'll be hands-on with the machines that make our business tick - rotational moulding machines, extrusion and compounding lines, and extrusion pipelines - carrying out planned and reactive maintenance to keep everything running smoothly and safely. There's some fabrication work involved too, so it's a nice bonus if you enjoy that side of the trade, but it's a small part of the role rather than the main focus - this position is really about mechanical fitting, machining, and keeping our production equipment in top condition. About You You will have completed a New Zealand apprenticeship in Fitting and Turning, or Fitting and Machining - this is essential You will have a solid grounding in mechanical fault-finding, repairs, and preventative maintenance You will enjoy working with a variety of production equipment, and will pick up new machinery quickly You will take pride in your workmanship and leave every job better than you found it You will be a practical problem-solver who's comfortable getting stuck in, whether it's a quick fix or a bigger job You will have some fabrication or welding skills, which is a bonus but not the main focus of the role You will be a good communicator who works well as part of a small, close-knit maintenance team You will have a genuine interest in keeping plant and equipment safe, reliable, and running at its best What You Will Get in Return At our company, we value community and being a responsible and sustainable manufacturer in New Zealand. This position offers someone the opportunity to join a successful, fast-growing business with a positive, future-focused culture, modern equipment to work on, and a team that genuinely backs each other. If you've done your time in a NZ fitting and turning or fitting and machining apprenticeship and you're ready to put those skills to work, then let's talk. #J-18808-Ljbffr
