People, Projects & Office Coordinator (fixed-term) NZ Thoroughbred Racing Inc – Cambridge, North Island This is a fixed-term position until March 2027. About NZTR NZTR is the governing body of the thoroughbred racing industry in New Zealand. We represent the interests of industry stakeholders, develop and promote racing, and ensure the economic wellbeing of those who derive their livelihoods from racing. Our mission is simple: to do what’s best for New Zealand thoroughbred racing. We're looking for an organised, proactive and people-focused coordinator who thrives on bringing people together, keeping things running smoothly, and supporting projects that make a real impact. This is a unique opportunity to work across office operations, employee engagement, office events, and strategic projects, making it an ideal role for someone who enjoys variety and building strong relationships across a business. About the Role This role sits within our People & Performance team but works across the wider organisation to create an exceptional employee experience while supporting key business initiatives. No two days are likely to look the same. One day you might be coordinating an employee event, producing our staff newsletter, arranging travel, and organising office facilities. The next, you could be supporting a strategic project, liaising with external stakeholders, coordinating meetings, and helping deliver initiatives that support NZTR's future direction. You’ll be the person who helps keep things connected, organised, and moving forward. What You’ll Be Doing Office & Workplace Coordination Coordinating day-to-day office operations and administration Managing office suppliers, facilities, equipment, and services Supporting travel bookings and general business administration Coordinating fleet management requirements Maintaining a welcoming and professional office environment Employee Experience & Culture Coordinating staff events, celebrations, and social club activities Producing and managing the staff newsletter and internal communications Supporting wellbeing, recognition, and engagement initiatives Assisting with onboarding and farewell activities Helping create a positive and connected workplace culture Project Coordination Supporting the delivery of business and strategic projects Coordinating project meetings, actions, timelines, and communications Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders Preparing reports, presentations, and project documentation Following up actions and ensuring projects continue to progress People & Performance Support Providing administrative support across People & Performance activities Assisting with recruitment coordination and onboarding processes Supporting employee engagement initiatives and HR projects Maintaining employee information and documentation What We’re Looking For You may come from an Office Manager, Operations Coordinator, Executive Assistant, Events Coordinator, Project Coordinator, or similar role. Most importantly, you’ll be someone who loves building relationships, juggling competing priorities, and making things happen. You’ll also bring: Proven experience coordinating projects, events, or business operations Outstanding organisational skills and attention to detail Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build effective relationships Excellent written and verbal communication skills Confidence working with people at all levels of an organisation The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines A collaborative, proactive, and solutions-focused approach Why Join NZTR?
