The Impact You'll Have: As a valued member of our casual support workforce, you'll play an important role in supporting people to live fulfilling, independent, and meaningful lives. You will: Support people with daily living activities, community participation, and personal goals. Build positive relationships with tangata whaiora, people living with disabilities, service users, their whānau, and support networks. Provide calm, compassionate, and professional support, including in situations involving complex needs or challenging behaviours. What You'll Bring to the Team: Relevant Experience: A minimum of 6 months' experience as a Mental Health Assistant, Community Support Worker, Disability Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant, or in a similar support role. Reliability & Availability: The ability to commit to at least 2-3 shifts per week on an ongoing basis , with flexibility to work a variety of shift types, including weekends where required. Safe Working Hours Compliance: The ability to meet Gaia Healthcare's Safe Working Hours requirements and manage your availability responsibly. Calm & Compassionate Approach: A kind, caring, resilient, and professional nature with the ability to remain calm and provide effective support in challenging situations and when managing behaviours of concern. Mobility: A Full New Zealand Driver's License is essential, including the ability and confidence to drive client or service vehicles, including vans where required. Work Rights: You must already have the legal right to work in New Zealand ( please note: Gaia Healthcare is not an accredited employer for visa sponsorship ).
