About the Role They are seeking an experienced Intermedidate to senior Estimator to take a lead role in their commercial pricing team. This is a stable, 100% office-based role operating out of modern North Shore headquarters. You will own the end-to-end estimating process for major hydraulic, drainage, and commercial plumbing tenders. Working closely with the executive leadership team, you will shape competitive bids, manage commercial risks, and directly impact the success of prestigious project wins. Key Responsibilities End-to-End Estimating: Manage tender submissions from initial expression of interest through to final bid lodgement. Quantity Take-offs: Perform detailed material, plant, fixture, and labor take-offs from architectural plans. Subcontractor & Supplier Liaison: Issue clear material inquiries, evaluate market quotations, and negotiate competitive pricing. Risk Analysis: Identify project risks and compliance factors, implementing strategic adjustments to protect margins. Project Handover: Prepare detailed commercial handover documentation for our project delivery and site management teams. Skills & Experience Required Proven Estimating Track Record: Ideally you will offer 5-8+ years of estimating experience, ideally focused on complex commercial hydraulics, plumbing, or infrastructure packages. Trade or Technical Knowledge: Strong structural understanding of commercial plumbing, drainage systems, gas layouts, and local NZ compliance standards. Software Proficiency: Advanced skills using modern digital estimating software (e.g., CostX, Countfire, or Planswift) and Microsoft Excel. Sharp Commercial Acumen: High-level analytical skills with a knack for accurate material pricing and cost optimization. Communication Skills: Confident communicator capable of negotiating with premium tier-1 construction partners, suppliers, and engineering stakeholders.
