The role will suit someone who enjoys working with both technology and people, someone who can understand business needs, work with data and deliver practical reporting solutions that make a difference. About the Role The Business Intelligence Analyst will develop, maintain and support reporting, dashboards, datasets and data processes across the Group. You will work across Power BI reporting, SQL-based analysis, data modelling, data quality improvement and reporting automation. This role sits within the Group IT Business Intelligence function and is focused on growing our BI capability rather than providing general IT support. You will work closely with business stakeholders, the Group IT team and external technology partners to improve how the organisation uses data to make decisions. What You'll Do Reporting & Business Insights Maintain existing reports and dashboards to ensure accuracy, consistency, and appropriate data security. Design and develop new reports, dashboards, metrics, and data capture solutions aligned to business requirements. Prepare ad hoc reporting and analysis as required by the business. Develop productivity, efficiency, and performance analysis to support operational and financial decision-making. Work with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and turn business questions into clear, useful reporting outputs. Power BI Development & Support Build and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models and supporting datasets. Improve the usability, consistency, and performance of BI reports across the group. Support users in accessing, interpreting, and understanding reports and dashboards. Apply appropriate report security, workspace practices and data access controls. Query, transform and analyse data from multiple source systems using SQL and related tools. Create and maintain structured datasets for reporting and analysis. Apply consistent data modelling standards that support reliable reporting across multiple entities and business units. Document key data definitions, business rules and report logic where required. Data Integration & Automation Develop, maintain and improve data flows, data extracts and automation that support reporting and analytics. Work with internal IT team members and external partners where data needs to be moved between systems. Monitor recurring data processes and help resolve issues affecting reporting reliability or performance. Identify opportunities to reduce manual reporting effort through better data capture, automation, or system integration. Data Quality & Improvement Investigate data quality issues and work with stakeholders to improve data capture, accuracy, and consistency. Establish and maintain validation of checks, reconciliation processes, and practical data quality standards. Support continuous improvement of reporting structures, metrics, and analytics capability. Help the business understand where source data limitations impact reporting outcomes. Cross-Company Reporting & Integration Support group-level reporting, benchmarking, and insights across multiple companies and business units. Consolidate and standardise data where practical while maintaining appropriate entity-level detail. Contribute to reporting and data alignment as new business units; systems and processes are introduced. Business Engagement & Enablement Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver useful reporting and analytics outcomes. Explain data and reporting concepts clearly to non-technical users. Train staff in how to access, interpret and use reports, dashboards and data outputs. Support the development of better data literacy across the organisation. Project & Ad Hoc Support Support analytics, reporting, system, and data-related projects as required. Assist with business application and process improvement work where it has a clear reporting, data or analytics component. Undertake ad hoc analysis and reporting requests. Carry out other reasonable duties as directed in line with the role. What You'll Bring We're looking for someone with strong technical skills and a practical, business-focused approach. Relevant qualification in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Business, Finance, or equivalent practical experience. 2‑5+ years’ experience in Business Intelligence, reporting, data analysis, or a similar role.
