About the Role We're looking for an experienced Excavator Operator to join our team. You'll play a key role in delivering demolition projects of all sizes, working independently, operating machinery confidently, and following Site Manager instructions to ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Safely and efficiently operate excavators in accordance with company safety policies, procedures, and operational requirements. Competently handle tasks such as loading trucks and loading machinery onto transport vehicles. Maintain, clean, and store company equipment and materials in a safe and organized manner. Ensure both you and your equipment are prepared and transported efficiently to and from work. Show strong time management, think on your feet, balance tasks effectively, and maintain a high level of safety awareness. Complete daily pre-start checks on all machines and ensure supporting paperwork is accurate and up to date. Accurately complete all required documentation, including check sheets, charge-out dockets, daily run sheets, timesheets, and any other operational paperwork. Skills, Experience & Attributes Minimum of 3 years of experience operating machinery in a demolition or related field. Successful track record operating excavators and loaders, as well as smaller equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with heavy equipment operations. Experience operating 14-tonne and larger excavators preferred. A safe and responsible approach to work as well as health and safety. Familiar with the demolition industry and the safety requirements within. WTR endorsement preferred. Site Safe certification is advantageous but not essential. Must be eligible to work in New Zealand. Applicants must be drug free, punctual and hardworking. Available to work Monday to Saturday and flexible to meet project requirements.
