Director of Swimming

Waipa Community Facilities Trust – Cambridge, North Island The Waipa Community Facilities Trust exists so that all Waipa people and visitors benefit from improved health and wellbeing through safe and high quality recreation and sport opportunities As our Director of Swimming, you will be responsible for the strategic planning and implementation of the swimming programmes at our facilities, the Te Awamutu Events Centre and the Perry Aquatic Centre. You will work closely with our Swim School Manager and Coaches to ensure the Swim Waipa swimming programme is seamless. Our programme caters for all abilities; Learn to Swim for both children and adults through to competitive squads, masters training and rehabilitation. The person we are looking for must have: Proven leadership and people management skills A sound knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 Great communication skills with the ability to interact with the public, contractors and key stakeholders and committees . The ability to drive community engagement, membership growth, and seek sponsorship opportunities Experience in preparing and managing budgets and business plans Understanding and experience in coach development A background in Swimming Hours of work will be Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm working across both facilities.
