Dispatch Driver - Class 4

Stake Glass Ltd is a proudly independent, 100% New Zealand-owned glass supplier and processor, delivering innovative glass solutions for commercial and residential projects throughout the South Island. As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Dispatch Driver to join our Christchurch-based dispatch team. This is more than a driving role. You will be the face of Stake Glass on delivery sites, building strong relationships with customers while ensuring our products are delivered safely, professionally, and on time. About the Role Working as part of a small, supportive team, you’ll operate our modern fleet of vehicles delivering glass products throughout Canterbury and across the South Island. Some travel will involve overnight stays. A typical day may include: Planning delivery runs (with Manager) and confirming site delivery requirements with customers or through the customer services team Liaising directly with customers to ensure someone is available to receive deliveries and assist with unloading where applicable Safely transporting glass products to residential and commercial sites Loading and unloading glass products using forklifts and manual handling techniques Completing delivery paperwork, electronic logbooks and transport systems accurately Ensuring compliance with NZTA regulations, company procedures and health and safety requirements Performing vehicle checks and maintaining a clean, professional vehicle presentation Supporting dispatch and warehouse operations as required. What We're Looking For A minimum of 2 years' driving experience Excellent communication and customer service skills Strong planning and organisational ability Sound knowledge of road rules, transport regulations and safe driving practices Good computer, paperwork and system skills A proactive, positive attitude and ability to work well within a team Physical fitness and the ability to safely handle and lift glass products A strong commitment to workplace health and safety. Bonus Points For: Current forklift licence and experience Experience delivering fragile or specialised products Knowledge of EROAD, logbooks or transport management systems. Don't have a current forklift licence but have the right experience and attitude? We're happy to support certification for the right candidate.
