MacMillan Plumbing and Gas - Auckland, North Island We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced plumbing QS / estimator to lead our team. The Role This role would suit a down-to-earth, quiet achiever who likes to get things done. You will lead from the front, bring a strong work ethic, and understand how to get the best out of people with differing personalities. You would be in charge of a team responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for plumbing, gas fitting, and drain laying projects working alongside the plumbing manager. This includes reviewing plans and specifications, performing material and labour take-offs, obtaining supplier and subcontractor pricing, assessing project risks, preparing budgets and variations, and supporting project managers throughout the construction process. What We Are Looking For Someone who takes ownership and pride in their work Competent, capable, and knowledgeable in plumbing systems Valid NZ work visa or NZ residency/citizenship Skills & Experience / Key Responsibilities Confident interpreting plans and specs Solid Excel skills and estimating software experience (preferred) Willingness to learn our project management software (Simpro) Strong communication and organisational skills. Will need to be able to time manage yourself prioritising tasks based on Deadlines Key Responsibilities (continued) Prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial drainage projects Respond to Requests for Tender (RFTs) Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial clients and main contractors Work closely with project managers and site teams Attend client and project meetings Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
