Civil Site Supervisor - Slope stabilisation and geotechnical construction Groundfix Limited started in 2013 and is a New Zealand-owned and operated, national award-winning Ground Engineering and Slope Stabilisation contractor, with projects throughout the country. ABOUT THE ROLE This role is suited to an experienced Site Supervisor and/or Foreman who can lead teams on-site, mentor junior site staff, coordinate day-to-day operations, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You’llwork across a variety of civil construction projects, supporting crews in a hands-on leadership capacity while mentoring team members andmaintainingstrong site performance. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Mentoring and supervising site teams Arranging, directing, and monitoring on-site construction activities Planning and programming project works Organising materials, plant, and subcontractors Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to specification Maintaining high Health & Safety and Quality standards Completion of site paperwork to a high standard Liaising with project managers, clients, and subcontractors SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Experience in a site based and hands-on supervisor role, on various slope stabilisation, rockfall protection, retaining, piling or other geotechnical civil construction projects that include: A minimum of 3-years supervising and coordinating crews Ability to lead teams and maintain positive site culture Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements Reading and interpreting construction drawings and plans Planning daily site activities and managing forward workflows to minimise delays Training and mentorship of junior site staff in basic site operations PREFERRED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL Experience in the following will be highly advantageous, but is not essential. Retaining and lateral support works including piling, ground anchoring, shotcrete and retaining wall construction. Slope stabilisation works including soil nailing, meshing, scaling, shotcrete and bored drains. Rockfall protection works including rock bolting, meshing and the construction of rockfall barriers / attenuators. Specialist grouting works including pressure grouting, TAM, grout curtains and void filling. Foundation and seismic upgrade works including piling, anchoring, underpinning and micro piling Restricted access works including rope access, working at height (fall restraint or EWP), confined space or tunnel / mining operations. IRATA, EWP, WTR, Forklift, or other relevant trade certificates would be advantageous but not essential.
