Location: Tauranga, bay of Plenty Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Hours: 30 Pay Rate: $30 to $40 About the Role We are looking for an experienced and motivated Restaurant Manager to manage the day-to-day operations of our busy restaurant. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring efficient service, maintaining high customer-service standards, supervising staff, and supporting the overall growth and profitability of the business. Key Duties and Responsibilities Plan and manage the daily operations of the restaurant. Organise and supervise dine-in, takeaway, buffet, and catering services. Ensure customers receive professional and efficient service. Recruit, train, supervise, and monitor restaurant staff. Prepare staff rosters and allocate duties according to operational requirements. Monitor staff performance and provide guidance and support when required. Ensure compliance with food-safety, hygiene, health and safety, and licensing requirements. Manage customer enquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally. Monitor stock levels and arrange the purchase of food, beverages, and restaurant supplies. Liaise with suppliers and negotiate pricing where appropriate. Control operating costs, wastage, and stock losses. Maintain records of sales, expenses, stock, and daily business activities. Assist with budgeting, pricing, promotions, and business-development strategies. Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth coordination between food preparation and customer service. Ensure the restaurant premises, dining areas, equipment, and facilities are clean and properly maintained. Handle cash, payments, end-of-day reconciliation, and banking procedures where required. Ensure the restaurant meets its sales, service, and profitability targets. Skills and Experience The successful applicant should have: Strong leadership and staff-management skills. Excellent communication and customer-service skills. Good knowledge of food safety and workplace health and safety requirements. The ability to manage stock, budgets, rosters, and operational costs. The ability to remain calm and make decisions in a busy working environment. Good organisational and problem-solving skills. The flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
