Job Description
Social Project – Wellington Central, North Island Are you a passionate fitness leader who thrives on building community, developing people, and keeping things running beautifully behind the scenes? Social Project is looking for a Wellness Studio Coordinator to lead the day-to-day operation across our CBD and Porirua Wellness studios. Our Wellness studio is the home to our Pilates and yoga classes. This is a hands‑on, people‑first role for someone who loves teaching, genuinely connects with members and instructors, and takes real pride in the experience they create. We're open to this being part-time (30 hours) or full‑time (40 hours) — we'd rather find the right person and make the hours work. About Social Project Social Project is a premium wellness and fitness community built around the belief that movement is better when it’s social. We offer Group training, reformer, Mat/barre pilates and yoga classes, recovery services, 24/7 gym floor access, a kids’ room for children to hang out while their parents use the facilities, and social and WFH lounge spaces. We hold ourselves to a high standard, but what makes us different is our people. The instructors who know their members’ names. The team that goes the extra mile. The community that keeps showing up for each other. If that sounds like your kind of environment, keep reading. About the role This role sits at the heart of our Wellington wellness operation (Pilates and yoga studios) — split across CBD (3 days) and Porirua (2 days). You’ll be the go‑to person for our wellness contractors, the face our members see on the floor, and the person who keeps both studios running smoothly week to week. You’ll report to the Wellness Director and have real ownership of your region – from the timetable to the team culture to the member experience. What you’ll be doing Your week will look different every day — but here’s what you’ll be across: Teaching Teaching 10–12 pilates classes per week across both locations Delivering a consistent, high‑quality experience that reflects the Social Project standard Stepping in for cover when needed Instructor & contractor management Being the main day‑to‑day contact for all wellness instructors Coordinating cover, availability, and scheduling Running regular check‑ins and class observations to support instructor growth Supporting and mentoring the onboarding of new instructors Studio operations Managing the wellness timetable across CBD and Porirua studios Keeping all studios to a high standard - presentation, equipment, and feel Monitoring class attendance and flagging trends to the Wellness Director Handling and leading class information to the Wellington instructors and members Member experience & community Building genuine relationships with members across both locations Following up with new members and keeping the community feeling alive Planning and running monthly events, themed classes, and wellness activations Content & reporting Capturing content for social media and supporting wellness campaigns Providing monthly studio stats and updates to the Wellness Director Who we’re looking for You don’t need to tick every box — but this role is a great fit if you: Hold a Pilates qualification (Reformer, Mat and/or barre) or have equivalent industry experience Have 3+ years of experience teaching group classes and genuinely love being on the floor Are a natural communicator who builds trust with people quickly Are organised and calm under pressure — you can manage a busy week without dropping the ball Take real pride in the experience you create for members and instructors Have experience in a leadership, coordination, or senior instructor role Are comfortable with social media and content creation Are someone who shows up with energy and holds yourself to a high standard What we offer Flexible hours — part-time (30hrs) or full‑time (40hrs), depending on what works for you A welcoming, energetic team that takes culture seriously The chance to work across two great locations in Wellington Clear reporting structure and regular support from the Wellness Director A genuine pathway into senior wellness leadership as Social Project grows The opportunity to be part of a brand that’s building something genuinely exciting in the New Zealand health and wellness space A note on culture fit We hire for values as much as skills. At the Social Project, we’re community‑first, high‑standard, and genuinely inclusive. We want people who care about what they do, take pride in how they show up, and make the people around them better. If that sounds like you — we’d love to hear from you. #J-18808-Ljbffr
