Christchurch, City Campus Permanent, Part time (18.75 hours per week) Create content that inspires future learners to choose Ara Showcase learner success, industry connections and campus life Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi – About the Role We're looking for a creative storyteller who can bring the Ara experience to life through engaging video content. As Videographer, you'll capture the moments, people and stories that make Ara unique. From learner success stories and industry partnerships to graduations, open days and campus events, you'll create content that connects with current and future learners, staff, employers and our wider community. This role offers plenty of variety. You'll spend time out across Ara’s campuses meeting people, capturing stories and filming events, as well as planning, editing and producing content for a range of digital channels. The work is hands-on, creative and highly visible across the organisation. You'll be part of our Creative & Digital Marketing team and work closely with colleagues across Marketing and Recruitment and have the opportunity to learn from and collaborate with our experienced full-time videographer. This is a part-time position working 18.75 hours per week. We're open to discussing how those hours are worked. As some of the stories and events you'll be capturing happen outside normal business hours, you'll need to be flexible and available to work occasional evenings when required. Ngā Pūkenga Me Ngā Wheako – Skills and Experience Whether you're an emerging videographer looking for your first role, or already bring experience, this is an opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, continue developing your craft and create content that genuinely makes a difference to learners and communities across Canterbury and beyond. Ideally, you'll bring: A qualification in videography, media, film, digital production, communications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Skills in video production, including planning, filming, editing, animation and post-production. Experience using video, audio and editing equipment and software, or the ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies. A creative eye for storytelling and an understanding of how content needs to be adapted for different audiences and platforms. Strong organisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Curiosity, initiative and a willingness to try new ideas and approaches. The ability to build positive working relationships with a wide range of people and help them feel comfortable on camera. An interest in understanding audiences and creating content that resonates with them. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Basic graphic design skills would be beneficial, but not essential.
