Madison Recruitment is proud to partner with a leading New Zealand infrastructure and utilities organisation to recruit a Senior Financial Accountant for their Auckland-based finance team. Our client is a major player in the energy and telecommunications sector, employing over 1,000 people across multiple locations nationwide. This is a business of genuine scale and complexity, supported by a high-performing and well-structured finance function. The Role This is a broad and technically challenging financial accounting position where you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. Key responsibilities include: Owning the month-end close process, including preparation and posting of journals (leave and salary accruals, prepayments, insurance, FBT) Maintaining and reconciling the lease module within the ERP system in line with NZ IFRS Managing tax compliance, including preparation of GST, FBT, income tax, and RWT returns Supporting the preparation of group and subsidiary financial statements and accompanying notes Assisting with external audits, group consolidations, and elimination entries Maintaining well-documented and audit-ready workpapers Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, including process mapping, documentation, and finance projects About You You are a technically strong and detail-focused accountant who takes ownership of your work and consistently delivers high-quality results.
