About the Role This is an exciting opportunity to join the retinal photoscreening team, completing patient assessments, taking digital images of patients eyes, as well as some administrative duties. This is a mobile service travelling to a new area each day across the Waikato region. There will be the occasional requirement for an overnight stay. Key responsibilities of the role Conduct retinal screening procedures in accordance with clinical protocols and best practice guidelines. Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including blood pressure monitoring, diabetic foot assessments, and eye health evaluations. Review and document laboratory results, elevate any concerns. Provide patient education on diabetes management, retinal health, foot care, and lifestyle modifications. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation. Coordinate patient appointments, referrals, and follow-up. Complete administrative duties, including patient registration, record management, data entry, and reporting. About the Service Te Whatu Ora Waikato Regional Diabetes Service provides secondary level care to those within the Waikato Region. This expands as far as Coromandel, Taumarunui, Te Kauwhata and the Raglan coast. We have a large multi-disciplinary team and promote a positive approach to teamwork.
