About the role As a BMS Project Manager at Learnd, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of Building Management System (BMS) projects. Your expertise will ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This position requires a blend of technical knowledge, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders. Based in Canterbury, Kent, you will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to delivering innovative solutions in building management. Key facts Location: Canterbury, Kent Engagement: Full-time Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience Visa: Sponsorship available for the right candidate What you'll do - Lead the planning and implementation of BMS projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets. - Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements and translate them into actionable project plans. - Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and contractors, to ensure seamless project execution. - Conduct regular project meetings to monitor progress, address challenges, and adjust plans as necessary. - Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, schedules, and reports. - Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols throughout the project lifecycle. - Manage project risks by identifying potential issues early and implementing effective mitigation strategies. - Provide technical guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. - Monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and report on financial performance to stakeholders. - Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance project delivery processes. - Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their satisfaction and addressing any concerns promptly. - Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in building management systems to drive innovation within projects. Requirements - A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, specifically within the BMS or related fields. - Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a focus on quality and efficiency. - Strong understanding of building management systems, including HVAC, lighting controls, and energy management. - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and team members. - Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as MS Project or similar applications. - Relevant project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is highly desirable. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment. - Familiarity with health and safety regulations and best practices in construction and project management. Nice to have - Experience with energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives in building management. - Knowledge of programming languages or software used in BMS, such as BACnet or Modbus. - Previous experience in a client-facing role, enhancing customer relationships and satisfaction. - Understanding of procurement processes and contract management. - Ability to mentor junior team members and contribute to their professional development.
