Key facts Location: Canterbury, Kent Engagement: Full-time Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience Visa: Sponsorship available for the right candidate What you'll do - Lead the planning and implementation of BMS projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets. - Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements and translate them into actionable project plans. - Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and contractors, to ensure seamless project execution. - Conduct regular project meetings to monitor progress, address challenges, and adjust plans as necessary. - Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, schedules, and reports. - Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols throughout the project lifecycle. - Manage project risks by identifying potential issues early and implementing effective mitigation strategies. - Provide technical guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. - Monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and report on financial performance to stakeholders. - Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance project delivery processes. - Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their satisfaction and addressing any concerns promptly. - Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in building management systems to drive innovation within projects. Requirements - A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, specifically within the BMS or related fields. - Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a focus on quality and efficiency. - Strong understanding of building management systems, including HVAC, lighting controls, and energy management. - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and team members. - Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as MS Project or similar applications. - Relevant project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is highly desirable. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment. - Familiarity with health and safety regulations and best practices in construction and project management. Nice to have - Experience with energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives in building management. - Knowledge of programming languages or software used in BMS, such as BACnet or Modbus. - Previous experience in a client-facing role, enhancing customer relationships and satisfaction. - Understanding of procurement processes and contract management. - Ability to mentor junior team members and contribute to their professional development.
