Registered Nurse - Post Anaesthetic Care Unit Salary Band - $81,000 - $106,000 p.a prorata + Kiwisaver. Dunedin Hospital. 1.0 FTE / 80 hours per fortnight. Permanent vacancy. About the role Develop airway management skills and acquire acute pain management experience in this dynamic environment. We provide a comprehensive orientation and absolutely guarantee you'll learn new skills to complement your present skill set. Workload is Monday to Sunday inclusive and covered by a combination of rostered shifts and on-call. We're a specialised unit providing post anaesthetic care to surgical patients. Our service covers both elective and acute - Thoracic, Neurosurgical, ENT, Ophthalmology, Maxillofacial, Urology, General surgery, Vascular, Gynaecology, Orthopaedic, Paediatric surgical specialties. We also care for procedures that occur outside of the theatre complex. About you Current registration with the New Zealand Nursing Council and a current APC, with the right to work in New Zealand. Previous PACU experience preferred, and we will consider 2+ years relevant surgical experience. Must have critical assessment skills and be able to make rapid decisions and prompt interventions. Confident in taking a step up in terms of clinical responsibility and able to work autonomously. Must be a team player and relate to colleagues in a highly professional and personable manner.
