Full time, Permanent Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Certificated teacher English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, The arts Papatoetoe Central School is seeking an experienced and passionate Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) . This is a key role within our Learning Support Team, working closely with the Deputy Principal (Learning Support), Learning Support Coordinator (LSC), specialist staff, learning assistants, external agencies, and whānau to coordinate effective support for students with diverse learning needs. As the SENCo/LSC, you will provide leadership across our learning support systems, overseeing the coordination of students with additional needs while ensuring high-quality systems, documentation, and collaboration across the school. About you The successful applicant will: Have experience as a SENCo or Learning Support Coordinator (LSC). Demonstrate a strong understanding of inclusive education and the New Zealand learning support system. Have proven experience in building school capability to effectively identify, support, and monitor students with additional learning needs, ensuring inclusive practices that enable all learners to thrive. Be highly organised with excellent case management skills. Build positive, respectful relationships with students, staff, whānau and external agencies. Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Be confident leading Learning Assistants and supporting teacher capability. Be solution-focused, proactive and committed to achieving positive outcomes for all learners. Hold current New Zealand teacher registration.
