The opportunity: The Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of workplace health, safety, wellbeing and return to work planning. As a key site leadership role, the HSWA must role model the expected behaviour standards, including the Animal Care Division Values, at all times. What you will do: Work Health and Safety The role of the HSWA is critical to the success of the business by way of ensuring that our workforce remains healthy, safe and engaged. Develop, implement and continually improve WHS management system. Undertake key risk management activity including inspection, auditing and risk assessment. Monitor, measure and report on WHS metrics. Develop and implement WHS training programs. Complete incident investigations in conjunction with key stakeholders. Keeping up to date with Legislation, Standards, Codes of Practice and technical knowledge, and providing expert advice in relation to these. Liaison with regulatory agencies as required. Injury Management & Return to Work Lead the injury management and return-to-work planning at site level with direction from EBOS Group Injury Management & Return to Work Team. Liaise with local treating health professionals as required. What we are looking for: Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience and a practical understanding of operational environments Experience in manufacturing environment is preferred. Experience in the development and/or implementation of general employee Engagement programs and capability development. Solid understanding of WHS and Workers Compensation legislation and legal requirements including risk-specific legislation and codes of practice (such as Dangerous Goods). Experience in inducting, mentoring and coaching workers and others (e.g. contractors). Excellent communication skills; verbal and written Strong planning and organisational skills Negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Strong working knowledge of incident investigation principles and ability to investigate incidents Demonstrated experience in implementing WHS management systems in an operational environment. Strong working knowledge of risk assessment and hazard management. Knowledge and experience of Injury Management & RTW procedures. Attention to detail and strong analytical skills High-level report writing capabilities Computer literacy with Microsoft Office applications, basic to intermediate level for Word and Excel Auditor skills and qualification. Cert 4 in training & assessment Experience within a GMP regulated manufacturing environment. Experience with the NSW workers compensation scheme. Solid experience and understanding of plant, equipment and machinery Understanding of the manufacturing process.
