Job Description

\nThis role is hands-on and you must be willing to deal with people face to face.
\nYou will be working in a meat processing plant, and must be comfortable in this environment. Experience in the meat industry would be highly sought after.
\nKey Duties and Responsibilities

- Oversee onboarding processes to ensure compliance and a positive employee experience. \n
- Provide oversight of leave management processes, ensuring compliance with organisational policies and legislation. \n
- Manage termination and offboarding processes (including seasonal layoffs), ensuring legal compliance and accurate final payments. \n
- Ensure all employment documentation complies with current employment law, immigration requirements, and organisational standards. \n
- Monitor and interpret changes in employment legislation (including ACC, Holidays Act, and visa conditions) and support implementation. \n
- Assist in managing employee relations matters, including terminations, and seasonal workforce transitions. \n
- Ensure compliance with IRD, ACC, Court orders, and other statutory deductions and reporting obligations. \n
- Provide advice and guidance to managers and staff on employment agreements, legislative obligations, and workplace policies. \n
- Oversee payroll processing to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with statutory requirements. \n
- Preparation of reports and ensure all systems are updated \n
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR and payroll systems, processes, and controls \n
- Support the implementation of HR initiatives, including system enhancements and process efficiencies \n
- Support the development and delivery of HR initiatives, including health & safety, recruitment, and training programs. \n
- Assist in communication strategies to ensure effective engagement and buy-in from stakeholders. \n
- Liaise with external providers (e.g., insurers, government agencies) to support employee benefits and compliance requirements. \n
- Support external audit processes by ensuring availability and accuracy of payroll and HR documentation. \n
- Manage plant activities (e.g. staff sales) \n
Role Requirements

- Relevant Bachelors degree or 3 years work experience \n
- Experience in the meat industry \n
- Comfortable working in a meat processing plant \n
- Experience dealing wiht employees face to face \n
