Key facts Location: Palmerston North, Manawatu Engagement: Full-time Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience Visa: Sponsorship available for the right candidate What you'll do Provide expert clinical advice and support to clients, families, and healthcare professionals, ensuring that all interactions are patient-centered and compassionate. Conduct comprehensive assessments of client needs, developing tailored care plans that align with best practices and regulatory standards. Collaborate with a diverse team of healthcare providers, including physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals, to coordinate and enhance client care. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of care plans, making necessary adjustments based on client progress and feedback. Educate clients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and self-management strategies to promote independence and well-being. Stay updated on the latest clinical guidelines, research, and innovations in healthcare to inform practice and improve service delivery. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that enhance clinical outcomes. Provide training and mentorship to junior staff and interns, fostering a culture of learning and professional development within the team. Engage with community resources and support services to facilitate comprehensive care for clients, addressing social determinants of health. Document all clinical interactions and maintain accurate records in compliance with organizational policies and legal requirements. Attend and contribute to team meetings, case conferences, and professional development sessions to share insights and collaborate on best practices. Advocate for clients' rights and needs within the healthcare system, ensuring they receive equitable access to services and support. Requirements A relevant clinical qualification, such as a nursing degree or equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a healthcare setting. Strong understanding of clinical assessment techniques and care planning processes. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information in an accessible manner. Proven ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and build strong relationships with clients and colleagues. Familiarity with healthcare regulations, standards, and best practices, particularly in the context of New Zealand's healthcare system. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with advancements in clinical practice. Nice to have Experience in a community health setting or with specific populations, such as elderly clients or individuals with chronic conditions. Knowledge of cultural competency and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Previous experience in a clinical advisory role or similar position, demonstrating leadership and initiative. Skills & tools Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and other healthcare technologies. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret clinical data and make informed decisions. Familiarity with telehealth platforms and remote patient monitoring technologies. Competence in using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software for documentation and reporting. Practical notes This position is based in Palmerston North, Manawatu, and may require occasional travel to client locations or community events. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a background check and meet any necessary licensing or certification requirements.
