HRIS & Payroll Onboarding Specialist at Kami. About the role Kami is seeking a dedicated HRIS & Payroll Onboarding Specialist to join our dynamic team in Auckland. This contract position is essential for ensuring a seamless onboarding experience for new employees, focusing on the integration of our Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and payroll processes. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing our onboarding procedures, ensuring compliance, and improving the overall employee experience from day one. Key facts Location: Auckland, Auckland Engagement: Contract What you'll do Collaborate with the HR team to develop and implement effective onboarding processes that align with company policies and culture. Manage the setup and configuration of the HRIS to ensure accurate employee data entry and payroll processing. Conduct training sessions for new hires on how to navigate the HRIS and understand payroll procedures. Act as the primary point of contact for new employees regarding onboarding questions and payroll inquiries. Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations throughout the onboarding and payroll processes. Monitor and audit payroll data for accuracy, addressing discrepancies as they arise. Develop and maintain onboarding materials, including guides and FAQs, to facilitate a smooth transition for new hires. Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure that all necessary systems are in place for new employees. Analyze onboarding metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed. Assist in the preparation of payroll reports and documentation for management review. Support the HR team in various administrative tasks related to employee onboarding and payroll processing. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in HRIS and payroll management to enhance our processes. Requirements A minimum of 3 years of experience in HRIS management, payroll processing, or a related field. Strong understanding of payroll regulations and compliance requirements in New Zealand. Proficiency in HRIS software, with experience in system configuration and data management. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex information clearly. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to maintaining data accuracy. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Proven organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Nice to have Experience with specific HRIS platforms such as BambooHR, Workday, or similar systems. Familiarity with employee onboarding best practices and methodologies. Previous experience in a contract or temporary HR role. Certification in HR or payroll management (e.g., CIPD, CPP) is a plus. Knowledge of performance management systems and employee engagement strategies. Skills & tools Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting. Familiarity with HR analytics tools and reporting software. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. Understanding of data privacy and confidentiality standards in HR practices. Practical notes This position is based in Auckland, and candidates must be eligible to work in New Zealand.
