This is an opportunity to take ownership of a diverse and established portfolio of business customers, partnering with business owners across a wide range of industries. You'll act as a trusted advisor, identifying opportunities, navigating complex lending requirements, and delivering meaningful outcomes that contribute to both customer success and regional economic growth. Key responsibilities include: Develop and manage strong relationships with business customers. Identify customer needs and provide tailored banking and lending solutions. Prepare high quality credit submissions and lending recommendations. Grow and retain a portfolio through proactive customer engagement. Collaborate with specialist partners across Westpac to deliver excellent customer outcomes. Contribute to business growth through balance sheet growth and market share opportunities. Champion exceptional customer experiences and support continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain strong risk disciplines and ensure compliance with banking policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. What You’ll Bring Experience in Business Banking, Commercial Banking or a related financial services environment. Strong lending and credit assessment capability. Sound understanding of business financials and the ability to analyse and interpret financial information. A proven track record of building trusted customer relationships and delivering exceptional service. Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills. The ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively within a team environment. A proactive approach to risk management and ethical decision making. A genuine passion for supporting New Zealand businesses and building long-term customer relationships. The confidence to engage with business owners, influence decisions and provide commercially sound solutions.
