We are seeking an experienced Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Advisor to join our People & Culture team and play a key role in supporting our retail network across New Zealand. Reporting to the WH&S Manager , you will be part of a collaborative WHS team dedicated to strengthening safety systems, driving compliance, and building a positive safety culture across the business. *This role will be primarily based at our brand-new Distribution Centre in Wiri, with occasional travel to our Support Office in Grey Lynn as required* Job Description This is a hands-on, advisory and project-based role responsible for delivering specialist WHS support across all management and worker levels. You will provide practical advice, lead initiatives, and ensure legislative compliance while influencing meaningful and lasting safety improvements. You’ll be comfortable working in a dynamic environment where priorities shift and stakeholder engagement is critical. Key Responsibilities WHS Advisory & Leadership Provide expert advice, training and consultation on a broad range of WHS matters Positively influence leaders and team members to drive a strong safety culture Interpret and apply WHS legislation and ensure compliance across the business Attend OHS meetings and ensure legislative obligations are met Lead site visits, inspections, and incident investigations WHS Systems, Governance & Projects Manage and develop projects to enhance the WHS Management System Implement, monitor and administer WHS compliance frameworks Oversee and manage safety and injury management systems Support WHS system administration and develop data analytics for reporting Complete allocated WHS initiatives and support the broader WHS team Reporting & Compliance Prepare monthly WHS reports and safety statistics Conduct data analysis and assessments Develop high-quality documentation, reports, training and presentation materials Ensure reporting systems and processes are maintained and continuously improved Stakeholder Engagement & Teamwork Build strong working relationships across stores, distribution centres and support functions Coach and guide leaders to meet their WHS responsibilities Promote collaboration and a positive, solutions-focused approach About You You are an adaptable and highly organised WHS professional who can confidently manage multiple priorities. You bring strong analytical capability and are comfortable engaging with stakeholders across diverse backgrounds. You will have: Formal WHS qualification (or recognised equivalent) Minimum 5+ years’ practical experience in WHS/OHS or a similar blended role Strong understanding of WHS and ACC Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legislative requirements Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong report writing and documentation skills Proven ability to manage projects in a fast-paced environment Experience in a multi-site retail environment DC experience Personal Attributes Proactive and results-driven Strong analytical and problem-solving skills High attention to detail Excellent relationship-building capability Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and multitask Adaptable and comfortable with changing priorities Apply Now The successful applicant will be required to meet a satisfactory National Criminal History Check outcome.
