We are a close-knit Years 1–6 school in rural Canterbury. Our small roll enables teachers to know learners and their whānau well and provide responsive, individualised teaching. We value strong relationships, collaboration, high expectations and active contribution to all areas of school life. The successful applicant may teach across Years 1–6. The final class level and teaching allocation will reflect the strengths and experience of the successful applicant or applicants and the needs of the school. We are seeking a teacher who: demonstrates strong classroom practice; has experience across primary year levels and confidence in a multilevel classroom; provides high-quality literacy and mathematics teaching; uses assessment information to plan next steps and accelerate progress; works collaboratively within a small teaching team; builds positive relationships with learners, colleagues, parents and whānau; is flexible, organised and willing to contribute to rural school life; and is committed to implementing the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum.
