Key facts Location: Auckland, AKL Engagement: Internship What you'll do Collaborate with the engineering team to assist in the design and development of innovative construction solutions. Participate in the analysis of project requirements and contribute to the preparation of technical documentation. Support the project management team in tracking project timelines, budgets, and deliverables. Engage in research activities to explore new materials and technologies that can enhance Framecad's product offerings. Assist in the testing and quality assurance of construction materials and systems to ensure compliance with industry standards. Participate in team meetings, providing input and feedback on ongoing projects and processes. Help create presentations and reports that communicate project progress and findings to stakeholders. Gain exposure to CAD software and other design tools used in the construction industry, enhancing your technical skills. Work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless communication and collaboration on projects. Contribute to the development of marketing materials that highlight Framecad's innovative solutions and success stories. Shadow experienced professionals to learn about best practices in project execution and client interaction. Requirements Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program at the University of Auckland, such as Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to think critically about project challenges. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with team members. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, for data analysis and presentation creation. Familiarity with CAD software or other design tools is a plus, but not mandatory. A proactive attitude and willingness to learn, with the ability to adapt to a fast‑paced work environment. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. Nice to have Previous internship or work experience in construction or engineering fields. Knowledge of sustainable building practices and materials. Experience with project management software or tools. An understanding of building codes and regulations relevant to the construction industry. Participation in relevant extracurricular activities, such as engineering clubs or competitions. Skills & tools Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) is advantageous. Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Trello, Asana, or Microsoft Project) is beneficial. Basic understanding of construction processes and methodologies. Strong research skills to support innovation and development initiatives. Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to a positive work environment.
