Senior Auditor

As a Senior Internal Auditor, you'll work across a diverse portfolio, partnering with stakeholders to assess key risks, strengthen controls, and help drive better business outcomes. This is an opportunity to join a highly respected audit function where you'll gain exposure to a broad range of business areas across insurance and financial services. You'll work closely with experienced audit leaders and risk professionals, while continuing to develop your technical expertise, commercial acumen, and stakeholder management skills. What You'll Do Deliver end-to-end internal audits across a diverse range of business functions and risk areas Assess the effectiveness of internal controls and identify opportunities to strengthen risk management practices Analyse processes, data, and control environments to identify key risks and provide practical recommendations Prepare high-quality audit documentation, findings, and reports Communicate audit observations clearly and confidently with stakeholders at varying levels of the organisation Manage multiple audit engagements and competing priorities simultaneously Partner with business leaders, risk teams, and audit colleagues to support effective governance outcomes Monitor and assess remediation activities to ensure audit findings are appropriately addressed Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Internal Audit function Maintain a strong focus on audit quality, professional standards, and regulatory requirements What You'll Bring Experience in internal audit, ideally within financial services, banking, insurance, or a complex corporate environment Strong understanding of risk management, governance frameworks, and internal controls Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and identify meaningful insights The confidence to engage with stakeholders and influence outcomes through professional and constructive challenge Strong written and verbal communication skills The ability to manage competing priorities while delivering high-quality work within agreed timeframes Commercial awareness and an understanding of the regulatory environment relevant to financial services Experience using data analytics within audit activities will be highly regarded A collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous improvement What We're Looking For Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, Risk, IT, or a related discipline CA, CPA, IIA, or equivalent professional qualification (or working towards) highly regarded Minimum three years' experience in internal audit Experience gained within a professional services firm, financial services organisation, insurer, or banking environment will be highly valued What We Can Offer You The opportunity to work within a well-established and highly regarded Internal Audit team Exposure to a broad range of business functions and strategic initiatives Career development pathways and opportunities for progression within Audit and the wider Suncorp Group Flexible working arrangements that support work-life balance A collaborative and supportive team culture Employee discounts and benefits across the Suncorp Group Ongoing learning, development, and professional qualification support The chance to make a genuine impact within one of New Zealand's leading financial services organisations Why join us?
