RESPONSIBILITIES\n- \n
- Ensure understanding of, and compliance with, all policies, procedures, and work practices. \n
- Ensure work is carried out professionally, effectively, and efficiently and within company standards, policies, and guidelines. \n
- Ensure all decisions made are not obscured by bias and are in accordance with the Company’s Delegation of Authority. \n
- Comply with all Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures. \n
- Undertake other duties as required to the role. \n

- Promotion of Robert Bird Group to existing and prospective clients. \n
- Effectively communicate RBG’s reputation for innovation, technical excellence, quality and project delivery. \n
- Build and maintain effective and collaborative relationships that contribute to the success of the business. \n
- Establish new business with existing clients. \n
- Allocate projects to individuals or teams under your direction. \n
- Resource management for projects and team members. \n
- Lead major projects including client relationship management, design and project management. \n
- Provide expert technical and project management skills to support the ongoing activities of a multi‑disciplinary engineering team. \n
- Assist in the training and development of all engineers under your direction and across the New Zealand Civils team. \n
- Actively engage in the promotion and maintenance of a positive and collaborative office culture. \n
- Develop and maintain relationships and professional associations with counterparts within key RBG client organisations. \n
- \n
- A minimum of 15 years’ experience as a civil engineer, working in a role within a professional office environment. \n
- Chartered Professional Engineer, with knowledge and experience working to NZ Standards and Codes, and experience with local authorities and agencies. \n
- Ability to apply and develop civil engineering principles, standards and concepts as well as generate technical reports as required. \n
- Excellent technical leadership skills with the ability to lead a team of highly competent professionals and work with people at all levels of the organisation. \n
- An innovative and creative approach with a willingness to think outside of the box to create growth opportunities. \n
- A strong and evidenced track‑record of outstanding technical delivery. \n
- A strong network within the sector and the ability to generate opportunities through leverage of this network. \n
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally. \n
- Able to engage managers, employees and external parties to achieve safe outcomes balanced with delivering customer and commercial expectations. \n
- Effectively communicate and represent the company to external parties and customers on all engineering matters. \n
- Well‑developed analytical and research skills. \n
- Well‑developed verbal and written communication skills including highly developed interpersonal skills. \n
- Proven ability to independently achieve work objectives, to meet tight time frames and to prioritise work to meet business requirements. \n
- Strong work ethic, positive team attitude and able to work in a fast‑paced environment. \n
- Intermediate to advanced skills using the Microsoft Office suite. \n
- High accuracy of work and outstanding attention to detail. \n
- Ability to use initiative and implement new ideas. \n
- Ability to work autonomously, take direction and work as part of a team. \n
