Role Overview:

Working for one of the major card schemes, we are looking for a commercially savvy and technically fluent Business Development Professional to drive the adoption and new sales for our digital acceptance products. This position will be responsible for managing and expanding new and existing merchant relationships, generating, and qualifying leads.

The products are worldwide phenomenon that have been accelerating globally driven by the payment opportunities it presents for banks, fintech's, PSPs and Merchants. We have been bringing that same security, simplicity and speed to digital commerce that already exists for contactless here in New Zealand.

Located in the Auckland CBD close to the viaduct harbour, public transport, restaurants, cafes and gyms - our office has a tech company feel. Our company has a flat structure which gives you exposure to influential people and will help you in achieving your professional goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to new product business development by initiating contact with potential new customers and managing opportunities through the sales pipeline to a successful close, further extending our customer base and product reach.
  • Prospecting: Identify and qualify potential merchants through research, cold calling, and networking.
  • Lead Generation: Generate leads and set up meetings for the sales team.
  • Work closely with AU-based Customer Solution Centre team, sharing learnings from both markets
  • Progress deals along the pipeline and support local account teams, ensuring all clients utilize the full potential of C2P, tokenization and authentication.
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain an organized pipeline of prospects and follow up on leads.
  • Metrics and Reporting: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular reports.
  • Drive the sales process, from prospecting to executing commercial contracts, ensuring a seamless and efficient sales cycle.

All About You

  • 5+ years sales/Business Development experience (ideally working with retailers or acquirers)
  • Strong relationships with New Zealand retailers is a bonus!
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to develop senior-level relationships quickly and effectively
  • Technical presales experience, and a technical understanding of Payments
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously at various stages of the buying process
  • Excellent communication skills both with customers and within an organisation
  • Willingness to travel within New Zealand
