Senior Metallurgist

Job Description Challenge plant performance and ensure the root cause of any deviation or excursion from normal operation is identified, understood and communicated. Drive and lead performance improvements across gravity gold recovery, plant throughput, flotation recovery and dewatering. Set operating guidelines, tactics, setpoints and parameters to deliver consistent plant operation that achieves or exceeds performance targets. Lead investigations into below-target performance to minimise losses, and facilitate timely corrective action. Provide day-to-day technical support to the processing team to assist achievement of the production budget. Design and conduct plant trials and metallurgical test work that produce statistically valid data and communicate results to stakeholders in the correct reporting format. Support commissioning and ramp-up, including reagent regime optimisation, water chemistry interpretation and circuit tuning. Partner with external consultants, laboratories and engineering providers on test work programs and circuit improvement initiatives. Job requirements Substantial experience in metalliferous mineral processing, with a strong gold processing background (gravity, leach and flotation). Demonstrated ability to drive metallurgical performance and lead root-cause investigations and plant trials. Sound metallurgical accounting and reporting discipline, with high standards of data integrity. A genuine, demonstrated commitment to safety leadership and the wellbeing of the team. Strong communication skills and the ability to influence and work effectively across departments and with external providers. Competent user of data management tools and standard office software.
