About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Legal Secretary or Legal Executive to join this highly regarded practice based in modern Christchurch CBD offices. Working within a busy litigation team, you will provide high-level support to senior legal professionals and play an integral role in the preparation and management of complex, and often challenging, legal matters. This is a senior support position suited to someone who enjoys being at the centre of complex legal work and thrives in a fast-paced, professional environment. You will play a key role in ensuring files, court materials, and documentation are managed efficiently and accurately. Key Responsibilities Preparing and formatting legal documents, correspondence, briefs, submissions, and reports Managing complex digital and physical file systems Assisting with disclosure processes, exhibit management, and chain-of-custody requirements Producing accurate transcription and dictation work Coordinating court filings, hearing bundles, and litigation materials Maintaining precedents, templates, and workflow systems Liaising confidently with legal professionals, court personnel, and external stakeholders Supporting multiple matters while effectively managing changing priorities About You A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Legal Secretary, Legal Executive, or Litigation Support professional Experience within criminal law and/or civil litigation environments Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Strong organisation and time-management skills Advanced Microsoft Office 365 and document management capabilities Confidence working with PDF editing and legal technology systems Excellent dictation and touch-typing skills are preferred Strong written and verbal communication abilities The maturity and resilience to work with sensitive and often challenging subject matter A genuine interest in justice and public service Why Join This Firm?
