IT User Support Specialist - Earth Sciences

This is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity to provide expert IT support to colleagues across New Zealand, helping ensure technology enables our science, operational and corporate teams to do their best work. As part of a collaborative Service Desk team, you'll deliver responsive support, solve technical challenges, and contribute to continuous improvements that enhance the user experience. What You’ll Do Provide remote and on-site IT support for staff nationwide. Resolve incidents and service requests through the Service Desk. Configure, maintain and troubleshoot end-user devices and software. Support Microsoft 365, mobile devices, printers and local connectivity. Manage IT equipment throughout its lifecycle. Contribute to service improvements and technology initiatives. What You’ll Bring 2–3 years’ experience in user support, service desk, desktop support, or a similar IT support role. A strong customer service mindset and the ability to communicate clearly with people at all technical levels. Sound troubleshooting skills across PCs, desktop hardware, mobile devices, software, and collaboration tools. Experience supporting Microsoft environments a must. Experience supporting Linux and Mac environment an advantage. A proactive, positive approach and a commitment to improving the user experience. A full NZ driver licence. This role is located at our campus in Greta Point, Wellington. The salary range for this position is between $62,000 to $76,500, depending on the successful candidate’s experience.
