Job Description
Position: Agricultural Heavy Equipment Technician Employment Type: Permanent Work Type: On-site Must have: Candidates must be open to visa sponsorship. The applicant will cover related expenses, approximately NZD 5,500. Experience in an agricultural background Hands-on with big equipments About the Role We are looking for a motivated Service Technician (or Apprentice Technician in Year 3–4) to join our Service Department. This is a hands‑on, customer‑facing role where you will deliver diagnostics, repairs, accessory fitment, equipment upgrades, fabrication, and mechanical advice. You will work closely with the Service Manager and Workshop Supervisor to achieve service targets while maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Manage and complete Repair Orders (ROs) accurately and on time. Diagnose, service, repair, test, and maintain tractors, agricultural machinery, and other equipment. Provide expert mechanical advice and support to customers and colleagues. Carry out inspections, warranty work, and pre‑delivery checks. Use welding and electrical testing equipment as required. Maintain accurate documentation in line with industry best practices. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies. Preferred Background Completed a hands‑on apprenticeship in heavy diesel (ideally 3–4 years). Significant experience working on tractors and agricultural equipment . Strong preference for candidates with exposure to Case IH or New Holland dealerships . Experience with large, modern, high‑tech machinery is highly valued. Other agricultural machinery brands will be considered, but experience with Case IH/New Holland is ideal. A key consideration will be the size and type of machines you have worked on. About You Appropriate qualification in mechanical engineering or related field. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Intermediate computer literacy and ability to use diagnostic systems. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Full/restricted driver's licence required.
