Based in our National Office located in Wellington's CBD. About the role As a Business Support Adviser, you'll be part of a team that puts people first and supports the everyday purchasing that keeps our organisation moving. You'll play a key role in supporting our people through the end‑to‑end purchasing process, helping ensure purchase orders aligned to contracts are set up correctly, vendors are created and maintained accurately. Your work helps remove delays, reduce rework, and gives both internal teams and suppliers confidence that things will be done right the first time. You'll manage and maintain procurement and vendor master data, balancing accuracy, internal controls, and service expectations while keeping the practical needs of end users in mind. Through clear guidance and problem solving, you'll help colleagues understand procurement requirements and navigate our processes with confidence, supporting positive supplier relationships and smooth purchasing outcomes. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organised, enjoys problem-solving, and is confident engaging with both internal stakeholders and external vendors. You'll contribute to continuous process improvement and the wider success of the procurement function. About you You're naturally people focused and enjoy helping others get things right. With a friendly, solutions‑based approach, you're comfortable supporting colleagues through purchasing processes, explaining requirements clearly and pragmatically. You're confident working with detailed purchasing and vendor data, with a strong focus on accuracy and consistency. You work well with others, take pride in the quality of your work, and understand your role in supporting smooth purchasing processes across the organisation. You're not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in, taking ownership of tasks and following them through to completion with a consistent focus on quality and timeliness. Adaptable and calm when things change, you enjoy being part of a collaborative team and contributing to a positive team culture. Skills and experience Experience using financial systems such as SAP as well as strong Microsoft Office skills Proven experience working with data, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail Knowledge and/or understanding of contracts and procurement processes Great communication skills and confidence working with a range of internal stakeholders and suppliers The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver on deadlines A collaborative, team‑focused working style. The benefits The midpoint of the salary range is $71,651 per annum and the full range (85%-120%) is $60,904 - $85,982 per annum. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
