MōteTūranga| About the Role We sat down with our Head of Data, and they let us know the following about thetūranga(role). This is a full time, 2 year fixed term opportunity based in Auckland. This is a hybrid role with three days in the office and two days where you can work flexibly. What are someof theday-to-day tasks the person in thistūrangawill complete? Analysis and delivery of new regulatory data models, including Loan Level Data and affordability-related survey requirements for RBNZ. Translation of complex regulatory, business, and technical requirements into clear data requirements, mappings, and delivery outcomes. Analysis of changing source systems and downstream impacts as part of technology modernisation. Data mapping, lineage, reconciliation, testing, and validation against existing reports and monthly submission requirements. Working across business, technology, and data teams toidentifydependencies, resolve issues, and supporttimelyregulatory delivery. Facilitate daily stand-ups and manage Jira epics, stories, and tasks to ensure team alignment, transparency, and effective delivery coordination. What is the most challenging thing about this opportunity? The most challenging part of this role will bemanagingthe complexity ofevolving source systems, regulatory requirements, andexisting reporting logic within a tight deliverytimeframe. What attributes will this person display to be successful in thistūranga? You can turn complex regulatory reporting and data modelling problems into clear, actionable analysis that delivery teams can execute against. You communicate complex concepts in plain English, enabling stakeholders to understand impacts, make informed decisions, and align on delivery outcomes. You will have helped defineaccuraterequirements and mappings, surfaced risks early, supported testing and reconciliation, and built confidence that the new data models are complete, reliable, and fit for regulatory submission. What will success look like for the candidate in this role? You’ll be confident working independently to navigate complex data challenges, clarify requirements, and deliver high-quality regulatory submissions within tight timeframes. Success in this role requires strong analytical thinking, the ability to identify and resolve issues early, and effective collaboration across teams to ensure solutions are tested, reconciled, and ready for submission.
