Warrington Home Store & More 9-Month Fixed-Term Contract | Approximately 22.5 hours per week | Start Date: 1 October 2026 Location - Unit 9 Riverside Retail Park, Wharf Street, Warrington WA1 2GZ Hours - Approximately 22.5 hours per week Working Pattern - Three days per week between Monday and Saturday, plus up to two Sundays per month Salary - National Minimum Wage (age-related). From 1 April 2026, £12.71 per hour for workers aged 21+ Contract - 9 Month Fixed Term (Maternity Cover) Closing Date - 31 July 2026 Interviews - Last two weeks of August 2026 About The Role Every item sold in our shop helps fund CARE UK Charity's work, providing practical support to local people across Warrington and Halton. We’re looking for a friendly, reliable and motivated Retail Assistant to join our Warrington team on a 9-month maternity cover contract. This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. One minute you could be welcoming customers and accepting donations, the next you might be creating displays, pricing stock or working alongside our volunteers. What You’ll Be Doing Welcoming customers and donors with excellent customer service. Accepting, sorting, pricing and displaying donated stock. Operating the till and handling cash and card transactions accurately. Creating attractive displays and maintaining high shop standards. Supporting stock rotation and identifying items suitable for sale or recycling. Promoting Gift Aid to help maximise income. Working alongside and supporting our volunteers. Assisting with opening and closing procedures. Following health and safety, safeguarding and charity policies. What We’re Looking For Friendly, approachable and confident. Reliable, organised and able to work well as part of a team. Comfortable working in a busy retail environment. Good communication and numeracy skills. Previous retail, customer service or charity shop experience is essential. An interest in sustainable shopping and supporting the work of a local charity. Able to work the required rota pattern.
