Acclime is seeking an Assistant Manager to join our Business Advisory Services team. Working closely with Directors and Senior Managers, you will manage a portfolio of clients, provide high-quality accounting and advisory services, mentor junior team members, and contribute to the continued growth of the business. This role is ideal for an experienced accountant looking to further develop their leadership, client relationship management and commercial advisory skills while working with a diverse range of privately owned businesses, trusts, companies and high-net-worth clients. What will you be doing? Manage a portfolio of business advisory clients across a variety of industries. Act as the primary day-to-day contact for clients and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication Ability to identify opportunities to deliver additional value-added services Prepare and review annual financial statements, income tax returns, GST returns, FBT returns, management accounts, budgets and cashflow forecasts, business performance reporting, tax calculations and advice, trust and partnership financial statements and Companies Office documentation where required. Provide commercial advice including business performance analysis, profitability improvement, cashflow management, business structuring, tax planning, financial modelling and general business consulting. Workflow & Team Management across allocated client portfolios, review work of junior team members, delegation of work, assist with resource planning. Monitor job budgets and recoverability. Coach and mentor Graduate, Intermediate and Senior Accountants, providing technical guidance and support while supporting a positive team culture. Assist with staff training and professional development. Support recruitment and onboarding activities. Maintain a high level of technical knowledge across NZ IFRS (where applicable), NZ tax legislation, Income Tax Act, GST Act, Companies Act, Trust legislation, AML/CFT obligations and IRD requirements Maintain CPD requirements and keep current with legislative and industry developments. Business Development initiatives, including identifying opportunities to expand existing client relationships, participate in networking activities, prepare proposals and fee estimates, assist Directors with new client onboarding and contribute to firm initiatives and strategic projects. Ensure compliance with firm policies and procedures by maintaining accurate workpapers and documentation, supporting quality assurance reviews, and assisting with risk management and client acceptance processes. Management of key internal and external relationships What are we looking for?
