Job Description

Operations Manager | Year-round role | Niseko, Japan + Queenstown, New Zealand Snopro New 2026-08-03 Are you an experienced ski-industry operator ready to turn seasonal work into a serious year-round career? Snopro is looking for a hands-on Operations Manager to lead our crews across back-to-back winters in Niseko and Queenstown. You’ll be right in the action, running busy delivery days, supporting the team, solving problems and making sure every guest receives an outstanding service. This isn’t a desk-only management role. We’re looking for someone with plenty of energy who enjoys leading from the front and knows how to keep a ski operation moving when the snow is falling and the pressure is on. About Snopro Snopro delivers premium ski and snowboard rentals directly to guests’ accommodation, saving them time and removing the hassle of traditional rental shops. We’ve spent 16 years building successful operations across three New Zealand locations and have now completed our first season in Niseko. With Japan growing quickly, we’re looking for someone who can help lead the next stage. About The Role This is a permanent, year-round position primarily based in Niseko, with approximately three months each year spent in Queenstown. You’ll start on the ground in Niseko for the upcoming winter, leading our delivery and ski-tech crew through the season. After Japan, you’ll head to New Zealand to support the Queenstown operation and help keep both sides of the business connected. During winter, it’s all about people, equipment, vehicles, schedules and great guest service. Outside the peak periods, you’ll help recruit the next crew, improve our systems, strengthen local partnerships and prepare both operations for the season ahead. Main tasks What You’ll Be Doing Leading, motivating and working alongside our delivery and ski-tech crew Coordinating daily deliveries, guest fittings and equipment movements Keeping the operation organised during busy storm days and peak holiday periods Helping recruit, train and support seasonal staff Building a positive crew culture where people work hard and enjoy the season Managing vehicles, equipment, stock and operational setups Maintaining strong relationships with hotels, property managers and local partners Solving problems quickly and keeping guests happy Helping improve our systems and grow Snopro across Japan and New Zealand About You You’ll be a good fit if Have solid ski or snowboard industry experience Have led teams in a busy, practical working environment Enjoy being on the floor with the crew—not managing everything from behind a desk Are organised and calm when plans change and the pressure builds Understand ski equipment, rental operations or resort logistics Can bring energy to a team while still holding people accountable Want a proper year-round career in the snow industry Are comfortable spending time in both Japan and New Zealand Rental experience, Japanese language ability and existing Japanese working rights would be major advantages. Offer What’s Included A competitive year-round package Performance-based KPI bonus Ski pass International travel between Japan and New Zealand A long-term career with a growing international snow business Back-to-back seasons in two of the world’s best ski destinations (plenty of time in between for summer missions) A crew of people who genuinely love the mountains #J-18808-Ljbffr
