HNZ leads the day-to-day running of the health system, with functions delivered at local, district, regional and national levels. About the role: Middlemore Central (MMC) is seeking a motivated, energetic, and experienced senior nurse for a fixed-term opportunity to lead and support Variance Response Management (VRM) within our Integrated Operations Centre (IOC) and across the inpatient setting. This is a unique opportunity to gain line management experience , organisational recognition and influence. You will work collaboratively with clinical and operational leaders to recruit, develop, and support the VRM nursing workforce and continue building strong stakeholder relationships to ensure effective variance response management across the organisation. The role offers a diverse portfolio, including recruitment, workforce planning, rostering, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, cross functional team work and a lead on the VRM working group, with a focus on the clinical deployment of the VRM nursing team across Middlemore Hospital's acute services. About You To be successful in this role, you will be a Senior Registered Nurse with proven clinical leadership and a passion for service development and change management. Preferred Experience and Skills: Minimum of 5 years' relevant nursing experience, ideally in a senior nursing leadership role. Demonstrated experience in recruitment and workforce rostering. Confidence using IT systems and applications to assess demand and allocate clinical resources effectively. Proven experience leading and supporting change management initiatives. Demonstrated expertise in setting clinical standards and managing practice to achieve quality outcomes. Postgraduate Diploma in a relevant specialty. Strong customer and patient service focus. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship management skills. Support and Reporting The successful candidate will be supported by the MMC Service Manager and Clinical Nurse Director and will play a pivotal role in maintaining stakeholder engagement.
